BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost uses CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in a new key or even replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a correct PIN code to begin the engine.
The Ghost is different from other immobilisers because it doesn't rely on key-fobs or LED indicators. It makes use of the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarming sequence that you only know.

The BMW engine management system continues to check the vehicle for signals emanating from the ignition key. If it detects this, the vehicle will continue to run. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or install keys or alarms that are made by an aftermarket company. It is connected to your BMW's CAN network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code which is accessed using buttons installed in your car. This lets you enter key sequences that are not accessible in normal media menus. For instance the volume up/down button, or source, cruise control, air conditioning, etc. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 numbers and is therefore difficult for thieves to figure out or crack.
We can also include the ability to use a service/valet feature. This is activated while your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. You can do this by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment unit (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Service / Valet Mode
The Ghost is a market-leading immobiliser designed to prevent your vehicle from being taken through key cloning and hacking. It utilizes the factory buttons of your vehicle to create an individual push sequence that only you can identify. This is similar to pin code security for your mobile phone. It's subtle and extremely effective and stopping even the most zealous thieves from ever trying!
If you're at home and in an event where you meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode which allows you to start the car with your keys in the normal way, but stops the engine from running again unless the correct code is entered. This is great for those who need to transfer their vehicles to valet companies, or trusted family members or friends. This allows you to take your car to the garage for repairs or repairs, or other maintenance. without fearing about it being modified by a mechanic while you wait.
When the service or valet mode is activated, it will stop your BMW from being able to be driven after it has been started. This prevents anyone from attempting to test drive it whilst you are away. Once you return it will revert back to normal, preventing your vehicle from being tampered with or stolen once again.

Anti-Hijack
With hi-tech thieves becoming more advanced, the security technology is continuing to improve, which is why Ghost has created this discrete and unobtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your vehicle and drive away. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to generate an unique push-sequence which must be entered before the engine can start.
If the anti-hijacking mode has been activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. If the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it is not able to find the correct code it will also stop the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without having to enter a PIN.
If you have a GPS device that is connected to your BMW and you want to utilize it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to use your navigation system when the vehicle is parked. If you own a smart-phone, you can also link it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

Remote Control
We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go functions. This is useful when you have to go somewhere other than home and valet or mechanic need to start your car. The system allows you to start the vehicle by selecting drive, then leave the service mode without using your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle on the map in real-time using your smartphone.
The Ghost can be positioned on the dashboard or within the centre console. It is completely hidden, tamperproof, and does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is programmed into it. The pin code has to be entered before the vehicle starts. This prevents thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.
If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will enter a security mode and disables all functions until the PIN code is entered, or you utilize the mobile app to disarm it. This is a feature that was created to safeguard your vehicle from high-tech criminals who are using relay boxes to steal your vehicle. It also stops thieves from using their mobile phone to activate your sat-nav or MP3 player to track your car!
Ghost also blocks "Relay-style Frequency Amplification". This is the most frequent way a car is being stolen using a key fob that has been copied or stolen through hacking. Ghost enables you to prevent this by installing a security device to prevent theft in your vehicle, called Secure-A-Key. The device is inserted into the key-fob of your vehicle and shuts off its battery after a few inactive minutes. This can be accomplished with the majority of modern PKE keys.
